William H. Kleindienst

 

William Henry Kleindienst practices primarily on commercial transactions, employment and labor law compliance, business formation, and environmental issues in commercial real estate transactions.

 

Mr. Kleindienst represents clients in commercial real property transactions, economic development projects, entity formation, and corporate governance matters. He is a real estate closing attorney and licensed to issue title insurance with Chicago Title Insurance Company. He also advises employers on labor and employment law issues, including drafting employee handbooks, hiring and termination, implementing proper grievance procedures, addressing Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FLSA, FMLA, and NLRA issues, drafting employment agreements and restrictive covenants.

 

Mr. Kleindienst is admitted to practice law in South Carolina.  He earned his Juris Doctor from New York Law School and a dual Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of California, Irvine in Political Science and Psychology. He lived abroad in Barcelona, Spain with a local family and studied at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.

 

During law school Mr. Kleindienst was a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Devin P. Cohen in the Kings County Civil Court, a Teaching Assistant for Contracts, and was on the Executive Board of the Moot Court Association.  Mr. Kleindienst coauthored The Robert F. Wagner Moot Court Competition, which is the largest labor and employment law moot court competition in the nation. While a full-time student, Mr. Kleindienst also worked at the Department of Labor, Office of the Solicitor, and assisted low-income individuals with estate planning at the New York Law School Wills Clinic.

 

Mr. Kleindienst is active in a number of different areas in the Lowcountry community. He currently serves on the Board of Assessment Appeals, volunteer attorney for the Lowcountry AIDS Legal Services, volunteer attorney with S.C. Equality's Post-DOMA Litigation Task Force, member of the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors, the South Carolina Bar Association, and the Charleston County Bar Association. He is a resident of Park Circle and a board member at the Mixson Bath and Racquet Club. He is a league tennis player in Charleston and competes in a number of different tournaments around the state and nation.
